The Goannas played Eugowra on home soil and came away with a good win with an under strength side.
The side that took to the paddock did a great job and will make it hard for the players returning to the side to get their spots back.
Grenfell started with the side playing great attacking football.
The forwards were all taking their turns hitting up the ball and the Eugowra players were finding it hard to stop their progress.
Brendan Hewen made a long run up field only to be pulled down a metre out from the line.
A quick play the ball saw Eugowra short and Justin Gunn did the rest when he dived over in the corner.
The kick for goal went wide and Grenfell led 4 nil.
Will Purdie, Bernie Millynn and Corey Clarke were making plenty of ground with strong runs.
This was giving the backs plenty of room and this made things easy for Grenfell as they weren’t using up to much petrol.
Joshua McFarlane had a strong game he made plenty of ground with his surging runs.
James Eppelstun playing on the wing gained plenty of ball and showed the crowd how exciting a player he has turned into when given room to move.
James has got plenty of speed and got the chance to use it.
He was able to run in two first half tries.
Alec McSpadden and Brett Causer combined well in the halves and this gave the outside backs plenty of opportunities.
Grenfell moved out to an 18 nil lead before Eugowra were given an opportunity to show what they could do when they had some ball to attack with.
Grenfell finally came up with a mistake twenty metres out from their line and Eugowra took full advantage and scored a very easy try when the Goannas waited on the line for the player to come to them and payed when he strolled over.
Grenfell now led 18 points to 6.
This sparked Grenfell back into gear and Brendan Hewen and Brett Causer scored for the Goannas.

The Goannas got a bit fancy and bombed at least three tries.
This gave the Eugowra players the chance they needed and they took the chances, scored two more tries and went into the half time break only down 30 points to 18.
The Grenfell side were going along fairly well but needed to get the killer instinct and not to give teams a chance when you have them on the rack. Grenfell should have gone in leading by 40 points.
Eugowra came out in the second half with a sniff and played some very good football and had the Goannas back pedalling.
Eugowra players had lifted and gave themselves a good chance to get back into the game.
The Goannas finally sprung into action and played the football that they can and the floodgates opened and they ran in four quick tries.
Brett Causer showed some brilliance on his feet and his kicking game was something else.
He had the ball on a string.
Two kicks turned into tries one to himself and the other to James Eppelstun.
Brett kicked from the sideline and it went straight over the black dot. Grenfell now led by 48 points to 18.
Eugowra at no time gave up and put all they had into their performance and gained a try of their own to bring the lead back to 48 points to 24. Although Grenfell skipped away to a big lead the Eugowra boys never gave up and they need to be commended for this.
The Grenfell side scored two more tries one to Brendan Hewen and the other to Alec McSpadden and took the lead out to 56 points to 24. Eugowra came up with the last try of the game when once again the Goannas eased up and let in the easiest try of the match.
This took the full time score to Grenfell 56 Eugowra 30.
This was a good win by the Goannas and all the players had strong games but the side need to address the lapses in concentration as the better sides will capitalize on this.
Grenfell try scorers were Brendan Hewen four, James Eppelstun three, Brett Causer two and one each to Justin Gunn and Alec McSpadden. Brett kicked six goals.
Players Player went to Brett Causer and Brendan Hewen. James Eppelstun had a big game as well as the whole forward pack.
