The general monthly meeting followed the annual meeting with President Dawn extending a welcome to new member Dale Scott whose nomination was received and accepted.

A nominations sheet for Major Singles is on the board, with names to be in by July 23.

President Dawn remembered all the July birthday members.

Prior to the annual meeting ten members participated in Patron’s Competition Day playing indoor bowls, as the weather wasn’t favourable for outside bowling.

Our thanks is extended to the Indoor Bowlers for allowing us to use their mats, to Garth O’Brien for rolling them out. The winners on the day were Julie Wood, A Taylor, D Anderson who defeated M Hunter, E Hocking and C Perceval.

The other game between J Beasley and P Brus against D Scott and H Bowman finished up as a draw.

During lunchtime which followed the game, President Dawn welcomed our two patrons and asked Nancy to present the trophies, which they had kindly donated, to the winners. Many thanks Nancy and Muffs for your donations.

Also thank you to the members for supplying the lunch.

The final in the club open major pairs was played on Saturday between J Murray and D Anderson against J Beasley and E Hocking.

Elaine and Jan started the scoring with it not being till end five that Dawn and Joy scored three to make it six to three.

Elaine and Jan remained in the lead, leaving Dawn and Joy down 16 to seven on end 14.

They then had a nanna nap and let Dawn and Joy score six on end 15.

On end 16 it was 17 to 13 to Elaine and Jan, that was where they stayed, letting Dan and Joy go on to win 21 to 17.

Congratulations Dawn and Joy on becoming the Club Major Pairs winners for 2008.

Callaway Richard Memorial Salver competition is to be played in Grenfell on August 12, 2008.

The following teams have been selected, A Taylor, H Bowman, P Brus, E Hocking and J Murray, R Walter, C Perceval and D Anderson. All members are reserves.
