Competition well patronised

18/04/2008 9:06:06 AM
On Wednesday April 9, 16 players hit off for a Stableford. Robert Coleman was the winner in A Grade with the great score of 42 points.

However, it was a very closely contested division as Jamie Logan was runner up with 41 points and Phil Simpson came in third on 39 points.

The handicapper was busy after these scores.

Balls went to Rob, Jamie, Phil, Mick, Jim, Brian, Peter, Allan, Bob and Jack. There was no nearest the pin.

Last Saturday a stroke event was played in two grades. Steven Ryder was the winner of A Grade with 64 nett and no doubt last some of his handicap.

Brian Brown was runner up with 66 nett and third place went to Peter Harris on 67 nett.

B Grade went to Paul Taylor on a count back from Steve Mitton with both finishing on 66 nett.

Max Barr was runner up with 69 nett and third place went to Bob Bassett on 70 nett.

The ball competition went to 70 nett plus Josh Hewen. Brian Brown was nearest the pin.

Sunday saw another good roll up for a stableford.

In A Grade Rob Coleman shone again with 37 points. However, Peter Harris pushed him along to finish in second place on 36 points. Third place went to Jamie Logan with 34 points.

Barry Parker took out the B Grade with 38 points and almost scored a hole in one. Bad luck Barry.

Bob Bassett was runner up on 37 points with Chris Fletcher coming in third with 30 points.

The ball competition went to 31 points plus Chris Fletcher. Max Barr was nearest the pin.

The social golfers are now coming up the straight in their championships.

Paul O’Brien leads the way in the scratch event with 82 off the stick. Steve Mitton has hit the front in the handicap division with 53 nett.

Good golfing to you over this weekend.

Dean Simpson won the club event and Steve Mitton was runner up. Aub Beasley won the putting again and the longest drive went to Allan Logan.

Tomorrow Phillip Barr is starter for a Medal Round. On Sunday we play a mixed 4BBB in a qualifying round for Keno.

So chat the ladies up for a partner in this one. B Brown is starter.

On Saturday April 26 there is a three person ambrose for the club trophy. R Greenway is starter. Please arrange your teams during this coming week.

Swingover.
