NSW Government Minister Verity Firth has announced the reappointment of Mr Rob Gledhill for another term as Chairman for the Lachlan Catchment Management Authority (CMA) Board.
Mr Gledhill was appointed as Chair for the Lachlan Catchment at the inception of Catchment Management Boards in 2003/04.
13 Catchment Management Authorities were established across NSW to ensure that regional communities have a significant say in how natural resources are managed in their catchments.
The CMAs administer the State’s on-ground natural resources programme for farmers, landholders and communities, and in 2007/08 this represented a budget of $214 million across NSW.
“I am pleased to have been reappointed”, Mr Rob Gledhill said on the announcement, “We have achieved a lot in this first four years but there is still more to be done”.
Rob attributes the acceptance of Lachlan CMA and their achievements in the Catchment to the community in the Lachlan and the way they have been prepared to work with the CMA, even in drought.
Mr Gledhill commented that across the Catchment he has been made aware from community members how much they appreciate the quality of the Lachlan CMA staff and how easy it is to deal with them.
“Our staff are spread across the Catchment in 10 office locations and are all, like me, passionate about the health of the Lachlan Catchment and working with the people in it.”
Mr Gledhill is looking forward to achieving some more great results in this next term as Chairman for the Lachlan CMA and is proud to have been given the reappointment.
“I sincerely hope we can continue this relationship into the future and work together toward building a better environment for our children”, Mr Gledhill said.
